Prague is Just so Gorgeous by Amelia Surma

June 3, 2019
Today was a very fun day! I started off the day and visited a small cafe a few tram stops away and enjoyed a croissant and smoothie. We met back at the hotel and went to catch a bus to Karlštejn. I loved it there! The architecture and landscape is so peaceful and so different to anything in the states. We had a very nice lunch at a restaurant where we sat outside. I have loved all of the food that I’ve had here in the Czech Republic! We climbed up the rest of the mountain and saw the outside of the castle. One difference I learned is that the castles and certain big tourist locations are closed on Mondays. In the states, it is Sunday’s. We unfortunately were not able to get into the castle, but we still had a gorgeous view and were able to stop at a few gift shops. We headed back home to the apartments and then out for a dinner on the docks. It was incredible there! I loved the docks area. We were able to see the castle lit up at night and there was amazing people watching as well. It was such a cool place and I really wish we had something like it in the Laporte area.
My favorite part of the day was seeing the castle at night. There are hundreds of people walking around and eating on the docks while the castle is illuminated in the background. Prague is just so gorgeous. I am looking forward to exploring more of the beautiful city of Prague tomorrow!

Castle, docks, and dinner by Maddie Risser

Today we went to a little town about 25 minutes away from Prague that has one of the biggest castle in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, a lot of the stores were closed and we weren’t allowed to go inside the castle but it was still a fun experience to hike up to it and look at the view from the top. We had dinner in the docks tonight which was so much fun. I loved watching all the boats and paddle boats on the river and all the people having picnics by the water. It was a really relaxed vibe and even though we stayed there until it was dark, I still felt really safe. Tomorrow is our last day but I am looking forward to trying to rent one of the paddle boats and doing some final shopping for gifts!

Sir Tallman by Ben Ruszkowski

Monday morning we left for Karlstein, which Mrs. Tallman had said was the biggest castle in the Czech Republic. We had missed our first train to the castle so we waited for the next train which allowed us to go a square in the middle of Prague where a bunch of protests against the government occurred. We finally got on the train but on Mondays the castle and most museums are closed so we were not able to most of the castle but the scenery around the castle was really beautiful to look at. We then went gift shopping and Evzan was named a night by Sir Tallman. We walked back to the train station and went back to the apartments to cleanup for dinner. We tried to eat near the docks but no place looked good for the entire group so we broke up into groups and split up.

Today by Jackie Mullins

Today we traveled in a train for about 30 minutes to visit a small village that has the largest castle in the Czech Republic. While there we ate at a nice restaurant that had a cat roaming around which was amazing. When we got back, we took the subway to the docks and had Italian food. Over all, it was a very relaxed day compared to the rest even though we walked over six miles. I am very sad that tomorrow is our last day but I am ready to see my family.
